Mail Display

2 Posted by - December 29, 2011 - Home Decor

Saw this super effing cute display of mail:

And I needed somewhere to put my Christmas cards.

I don’t have a salvaged shutter that I have painted sea foam green and then distressed so it looks like I didn’t actually paint it after all, and I don’t have cute wall plaster. But I think the effect is similar.

Who knew shitty mini-blinds could perform the same function as restored vintage shutters painted in some decorator color?

I mean, I admit Im laughing at every single post. But, on the other hand… Some attempts you’ve made arent even close to fair. Pepper flakes instead of glitter? Mini blinds instead of wooden shutters? I can’t say I would give it much faith either.

@BreannaDonnelly I believe that is the point of this blog. Where’s the comical value in perfectly performing every pin?

I fell in love withthis pin and HAD to do it. It took me a while to find a shutter but I did. I painted it with chalk board paint and hung it. The mail slid right through the slots and fell to the floor. I then took some scrap fabric and stapled it to the back. It WORKS and I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Each slat is numbered 1-31 and i place the bill in the appropriate due date. Its not a fail   =)
