Cranberry Ginger Spritzer

0 Posted by - March 20, 2013 - Food & Drink

Happy first day of spring! Let’s celebrate with a drink. Hell, let’s celebrate every day with a drink… But today, let’s celebrate with a fizzy pink drink, because nothing says spring like fizzy pink things.

This is a cranberry ginger spritzer.

You’ll note that it is part of a feature on The SoHo’s blog called Frocktails. I can only assume this is because COCKnails was already taken.

The recipe only requires cranberry juice, ginger ale, and sparkling wine. And, if you a froo, a sugared cranberry. Have fun with that.

(Obviously, I am not froo.)

In any case, I mixed up the drink and tasted it, and it’s damn delicious. My only complaint is that the ginger ale and cranberry juice take up valuable alcohol real estate.

I mixed the drink and then I thought, “Hey, that blogger took a picture of herself holding the drink in front of her cute dress. I could do that, too.” Except that I forgot I am not cute.

First comment ever! Should have make it all cutsy by focusing on the drink ๐Ÿ™‚ then it wouldn’t have been so “womp womp” kind of like my past experiences with COCK- um, nails.

    Awwww. I think you’re cute.

Yeah, but you totally have way nicer nails than she does!! In fact you could be a hand model ^-^

Or (following on from the faucet post) a hand job model…ha ha ha ha!

Oh, you are so clever! I should have thought of that.

When first checking this out I was just looking at the pictures, because sometimes I am too lazy to read, and thought the Schwepps was a bottle of cough syrup.

That would solve the issue of low alcohol content…

I like that you picked the school girl look over the housewife hostess look. Kudos to you!

Ummm, why are you being bougie? Get some Andre, use a beer stein, and show everyone how it’s REALLY done. You make my day, post by post.

Not womp womp, more like “get in my belly!”

Wrinkled, half-buttoned shirts are way cooler than fancy dresses. At least, they were in the grunge era. Are we not in the grunge era any more? Damn, I have to go shower.

I will fill my mouth hole with MANY of these. Gingerale plus booze makes my toes curl!

That looks and sounds delicious. Might have to try one of those this weekend! I wonder how it would taste if I used Vernor’s instead of Canada Dry? Vernor’s is a lot sweeter.

It would taste AMAZING since Vernor’s is amazing. Can you tell I miss it out here on the East Coast? I’ve been hoarding a 2L of it since I came back after Christmas.

I like cranberry juice with pineapple juice and coconut rum.

I see a lot of these in my future. They are 3 of my favorite drinks. Oh and btw I prefer your cardigan to the polka dots.

Plus she’s got her hand behind her back like she’s at parade rest…what’s up with THAT??

(And your red sweater is definitely redder than her dress.)

Look at you, using a big girl glass and everything. Would still have been a win in a red solo cup.Must try this.

I would find it extremely classy if you took a picture of yourself holding a cute cocktail in front of your face while sporting The Miracle Mask.

Can you suggest a cocktail in honor of the last episode of the LBD? Maybe adding alcohol will make my sobbing over the computer at noon on a weekday seem less insane.

OMG that’s Thursday, isn’t it? Hell. Let’s just do straight vodka shots and garnish with our tears.

  • Daintynymph March 21, 2013 - 9:54 pm Reply

At least your glass is cuter than hers! If you like more booze, just leave the ginger ale for the next morning when you need it more. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I love this drink, but it reminds me of fall/winter, mostly because it’s what the ladies in my family drink before Thanksgiving dinner, and the day after Thanksgiving while we put up the tree, and also while we bake Christmas cookies. I had never thought to drink it as a celebration of spring! Guess I should head to the store ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Alexandra Killian March 22, 2013 - 3:36 pm Reply

Wine doesn’t have nearly enough alcohol content to be watered down with both juice and ginger ale. At least throw some vodka in that shit.

  • Gemini Girl March 22, 2013 - 9:39 pm Reply

Your totally awesome, never doubt it ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Kimberliah Warren March 25, 2013 - 12:32 am Reply

You forgot the have someone jizz on the top of the drink before you took the picture!!!!

  • Jaime Kincaid May 26, 2013 - 2:32 am Reply

I’ll bet this would be way better and look super fancy if you put some candied ginger in there (who the hell has sugared cranberries?) for the ginger flavor and replaced the gingerale with booze.
