I am so excited to announce a new project I’m kicking off. It’s called The Pintester Movement, and you can participate! I’m getting together as many people as possible to step outside our comfort zones and try that Pinterest pin that’s been sitting on your Someday list forever. It’s your kick in the pants to get it done! And, in the spirit of Pintester.com, we don’t care if you succeed or fail– In fact, if you fail, all the better. Make us laugh. It’ll be therapeutic.
In addition to your kick in the pants, benefits include fame and glory. I’ll be putting up a post on Thursday, May 30 (that gives you a week and a half to get your project done) with links to everyone who participates and writes up their results. If you have a blog, that means you get some link juice and free traffic from me.
If you don’t have a blog, fear not! I’ve partnered with the awesome folks over at GoMighty.com and they want you to use their platform to join in with us!
Using the site is simple. You just:
1. Register for an invite at http://gomighty.com/register/ . (They’re in beta so you have to request an invite, but they send the invite out in 12 hours or less from the request.)
2. Create a goal called ‘Participate in The Pintester Movement.’
3. Write a story attached to that goal sharing the project you make and tag it #pintestermovement.
So stop being scared to tackle that project. You might fail, sure. So what? If we’ve learned anything from Pintester.com it’s that failing is not the worst thing ever. And you know what else? You might totally love that pallet coffee table, or crock-pot cheesecake, or Barbie boob necklace you thought you couldn’t make. Win-win, lovlies. Win-win.
Rules? I’m not much on rules, but please link back to The Pintester Movement post (once it goes up) from your post on that day, and link to the original tutorial that you’re working from on your post, of course. (Spread around that referral love!) The final element I’d suggest (but won’t require!) is some kind of call-to-action for your readers to also take on a project they’ve been putting off and join The Pintester Movement!
Raring to go? I knew you would be! Sign up below and I will email you reminders and details as we get closer to the date! (If you can’t see the sign-up form, click here!)

Tackling my Must Make Later Pinterest board has actually been on my 30 Before 30 list forever and I’ve only done one. So I totally needed this kick in the ass! Can’t wait!
I’m in. I have all these homemade things like slime and paint pinned for my kid. This should be messy.
Can we submit videos, and can we submit more than once?
Videos are awesome, sure! And for links, to keep things fair, I’ll post one per blog, but if you have more than one blog, GO FOR IT! 🙂
Barbie boob necklace?
Im googling that immediately!
[…] and this is unrelated, but I’m thinking about partaking in the Pintester challenge (test a Pinterest pin, write a post about it, done) for the fun of it. There’s actually a pin […]
I have already posted mine because surprisngly I was gonna do this tonight anyway but kinda wanted to put it off… Enjoy it

This is probably a stupid question, but I’m a dumbass. If I go though GoMighty, does that mean I’m starting a blog? Or is it just a one time post thing?
Nope, GoMighty isn’t a blog– It’s a collaboration/goal-setting tool.
I cant seem to click the “accept terms and conditions” it keeps linking me back to facebook. Any suggestions?
Hey, Jordan. If you’re using Internet Explorer or an outdated version of Firefox, try switching to another browser like Google Chrome.
If you did this like…. next month, I would probably be in. But I’m moving this week and seems like a really terrible time to start a project. Especially a stupid pinterest project.
Maybe do a moving related pin? How to not lose your mind, or your stuff, on moving day? ^_^
OK, who else saw the word “movement” and thought this was going to be another promo for the “Squaty Potty”?
I mean, Sonja, no poop jokes? I am disappoint. Truly.
Sonja, I’m so sorry, but the directions above are too much for me. Instead I will just tell you here that I saw a pic of a walkway at Home Depot or Lowe’s (it’s bad that I can’t even remember which one, isn’t it?) and it TOTALLY INFLUENCED the walkway I laid in my backyard last week. AND the point of the walkway was to cover the dirt. I did not get rid of grass making this thing — I just wanted the dirt to stop making its way up the stairs on all the people and dog feet climbing them after walking to the stairs. Through dirt. Now we walk to the stairs on pond stone and concrete squares. So far, so good! Oh! And since I saw the pic in person and not online, I couldn’t even pin it. So. I am a pintester failure. But I love your blog! Mwah!!
[…] please check out The Pintester Movement! I posted about it yesterday and I want to get lots of participation. My goal is to have 150 blogs […]
How do we know if it submitted? I’m the hesitant homemaker, if that helps. I’m really excited to do this and just want to make sure my sign up went through!
You’re on the list, Claire!
[…] forget about The Pintester Movement! There’s still time to sign up to do a May 30 post. I have 102 people signed up so far, […]
This might be a silly question, and I know you said you’re putting YOUR post up linking to our blogs posts on 5/30/13, but by when do you want our posts in?? I’m having difficulty in choosing something to test in the first place, but might barely get to do something tomorrow night or this weekend…
If you get it done and posted by midnight on May 30, I can still put it up. 😉 So don’t stress.
Should I be concerned that I haven’t heard anything from you about this yet?
Nope– I’ll be sending out an email to everyone about it after Memorial Day.
Oh good, thanks so much. I have developed a paranoia after finding out that emails have been rerouted to an address that doesn’t exist, I can’t wait to hear from you!

I started mine last night! MUAHAHA! My hands are bright pink from food dye. *delirium* Also posted a call to arms on my blog as well.

i requested an invite to gomighty but never got it 🙁
Hmm, be sure to try again, Ashley! Maybe it was just a glitch…
Hey, Ashley. Check your spam folder? If would’ve come from [email protected] with the subject “Welcome to Go Mighty.”

Hi Sonja, I don’t have a blog, I subscribed to Go Mighty but – how do I post the tutorial there? Adding pics/videos/text inside the “story” ?
Yep. Create a goal called ‘Participate in The Pintester Movement.’ Write a story attached to that goal sharing the project you make and tag it #pintestermovement. (You can include pics/text/etc. in the story.)
Seeing how it is May 29 and I am just now finding out about this (I’ve been so far behind on my usual internet surfing safari), will you do another one in the future??? I am super bummed I am missing this!
[…] when Sonya put out the call to ask us “Pintestes” (there’s that dirty thing) to join her in the Pintester movement, I signed up and prepared to fail quite hilariously, vowing to pick the weirdest pin I could find. […]
