Button Bobby Pins

0 Posted by - January 9, 2012 - DIY & Crafts, Hair & Beauty

I think I may have run into a pin even I cannot mess up. Of course, that’s because I had this really dumb set of barrettes sitting in my hair stuff drawer just waiting for the right pin to come along…

The idea of this pin is to use buttons to dress up your bobby pins:

Christina made some of these from her grandma’s antique buttons. I had no antique buttons. All I could find were the spare buttons from all the sweaters I’ve bought over the years… most of which are gone now to the big Good Will in the sky. So, since my buttons were ugly, I got out some tiny little barrettes that I bought, like, probably in high school because I thought they’d look cute and sparkly in my hair. Turns out they mostly just fell out of my hair and made me mad. But for some reason, I kept them.

So, since I’m lazy and didn’t have any good buttons, this project turned out to be even easier than I thought. No sewing. Just snap the barrettes onto the bobby pins.

Then stick them in your hair all weird.

Excuse my hair. In addition to being too lazy to sew, I am also too lazy to wash my hair regularly.

Then play with the buttons you didn’t end up using.

Overall, not a huge fail, unless, you know, you don’t keep all the hair shit you bought in high school on hand for just a case like this one.

Hey, that one actually worked out well. Wish I’d bought garbage like that for my hair in high school. Either it wasn’t available or I realized that such tiny things would get lost in the mass of hair on my head or I never saw them because I’m the anti-shopper. Bummer. Maybe I should go raid my friend’s house. she has lots of little girls.

I fully condone stealing stuff from little girls in order to test pins.

@Yournotfunny WELL. How about you go and learn some proper grammar, like the difference between “your” and “you’re”.
