You guys wanna know how to look like Nicole Richie? Yeah, me too. Unfortunately, this video probably won’t help very much because it’s me demonstrating how to do a hair thing I found online, and yeah. Also, I think in order for me to look like Nicole Richie, there would have to be other stuff going on besides just a change in hairdo, but you know. It’s Pinterest. I can dream. Hope you have better luck than I did. (If you can’t see the video, click here.)

I think one has potential though… I don’t think its too bad really. If you used darker hair bands & if you curled those loose hairs you pulled out – I think its cute!
That is pretty darn close to a win, I think! Yes, just use dark bands and curl the ends that are loose (or not pull out quite so much) and you have a winner! I think I’ll show this to my long-haired daughter…since I currently have hair that would only make Bruce Willis jealous, the tutorials are more for her anyway (sadness!). Actually, thinking about it, you have one up on ole Nicole…your hair is a lot thicker than hers!
That’s totally what it looks like every time I try a new hair style- even the ones they say are “easy”. So glad someone else can’t do them too!
It certainly isn’t the ugliest hairstyle I’ve seen. It does make me miss having longer hair. Why can’t hair grow quicker?
Ahhh yes, the fucking up of shit. My all time favorite past time.
So . . . I was watching this with the CC on and I just had to share some of the gems. The hair itself isn’t a total fail, and more than likely better than i could ever do.
Swede to the rescue:
1. Make two braids, pull on them to make them wider and “rough”.
2. … all the way down.
3. Cross the braids in the back.
4. Pull the braids up and around the head.
5. Cross them on top of the head. Fasten with pins so the pins aren’t showing.
6. (optional) Pull out some strands in the front.
So all in all you followed the instructions like a champ!
As far as the results go … yeah, you need more hair, and also more Swedish lessons. 😉
You are useful to have around.
I don’t necessarily want to look like Nicole Ritchie- I just want her money!
Also, I think the hairstyle was cute. As the others have said, all you need is darker rubber bands and a curling iron for the face-framing tendrils. Sadly, my hair is currently WAY too short for anything like this.
I think part of the problem is that you, like me, have thick hair. When you braid it it’s that much thicker so you don’t end up with thinner, flexible hair. I don’t know how many things I’ve tried on my hair that just don’t work the same because I have a ton of hair but you got the whole concept down so I think it was a win. 🙂
