Happy Colada

Sometimes you just need a goddamn drink. Today? Yep.

I won’t bore you with the minutiae of my life, but if anyone deserves a drink after the last couple of weeks, it’s me. I promise.

Know why I think this one’s called the Happy Colada?

Because it makes me happy that I have the approximate ingredients to make it. Faster drinks = better drinks sometimes. Most times. If you’re me, pretty much always, fine.

As it turns out, I had just enough coconut rum to make this drink, and no more, so that earns you a sad, “Why is all the rum gone?” selfie.

I quickly realized that my choice of glass was not adequate for the amount of drink prescribed. This is the drink without the pineapple juice added. (Fail.)

If you ever come to my house, you will realize that almost my entire fucking glass collection is freebies from various liquor companies. In this case, the Bailey’s is inadequate, but the Daily’s saves the day. (Had the Daily’s failed, I might have moved on to a beer glass from one of our many local breweries. I am not above drinking a giant blue cocktail out of a beer glass. No I am not.)

How did it taste? Well, nothing like a pina colada, really, but I am happier now and it’s a pleasing shade of bluish green and, hey, rum. A happy ending with a happy colada.

It's fast and easy, so who cares if it tastes like a pina colada anyways?
